Montessori Is A Nurturing And Holistic Approach To Learning
DSM Montessori unlocks potential and builds confidence through independence. With small classes and devoted teachers, we aim to create an environment where students thrive throughout their schooling careers. Our goal is to equip children with skills for lifelong success.
Lessons shape students of integrity and empathy with our Grace and Courtesy Programme.
We shape leaders who will make a difference with our six culture principals
Montessori: Child-led learning, independence. Mixed-age classrooms, hands-on materials. Teachers as guides, self-paced curriculum. Traditional: Teacher-directed, structured curriculum. Age-based classrooms, standardized assessments. Emphasis on group activities, formal schooling preparation.
Absolutely! Montessori education is designed to cater to the individual needs of all children, including those with barriers to learning. The DSM approach recognizes and celebrates the uniqueness of each child, fostering an inclusive environment where differences are embraced. In Montessori classrooms, the emphasis on individualized learning allows teachers to tailor their approach to accommodate various learning styles and paces. The hands-on materials and child-led activities provide opportunities for all children, regardless of learning barriers, to engage and explore at their own pace. The Montessori philosophy values the holistic development of children, encompassing not only academic skills but also social, emotional, and practical life skills. This inclusive approach aims to support every child's growth and development, fostering a love for learning in a supportive and accepting environment.
YES! In fact they do more than just cope they EXCEL! DSM learners have a unique advantage when it comes to traditional primary schools because their early childhood education gives them the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the classroom. Not only are they already familiar with the concepts and ideas taught in traditional primary schools, they also have a greater sense of independence and self-awareness that helps them to excel in the classroom. Additionally, DSM students have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively, both of which are invaluable in traditional primary schools all made possible through our curriculum. Learners are also taught to be well-prepared to handle the social expectations that come with traditional primary school, such as making friends and dealing with rules and authority figures. All of these qualities give DSM learners the edge when attending either a Montessori, traditional or private primary school.
You betcha! DSM offers Soccer Starz, Tumbling Tigerz, Flip Flop Gymnastics, Aqautic Zone Swim School, and Kid's Coding Academy as of 2024! There is even an after-school Islamic studies programme offered for Muslim learners.
Visitors came from all over the world to see Maria Montessori’s “Miracle Children” the children in her first Casa Dei Bambini in Rome. The miracle which attracted public attention was that children of illiterate families had begun to write and to read spontaneously after working with very simple materials.
DSM is my favourite school in the whole world, the teachers are fun and we're always learning

Both my daughters attended DSM and flourished beautifully, my youngest won Prestige Eistedford awards for the 3 years straight! Truly I have to credit this to the teaching team at Different Strokes and the guidance of Principal Zainab.
My son Bongwwe has been attending DSM for 2 years now and I can't be happier with the young man he has become, I admire how the DSM team works with the children so gracefully and caters to each child's needs individually.
I sent my daughter for 3 years to DSM and it was the best decision as I observed how well she coped in Grade 1. The foundation laid out by DSM was solid. Zainab and her team are experienced and passionate. The Madressah classes that the school offers makes the school even more of a preferred choice for parents when picking out an early childhood learning centre.
Since joining Different Strokes Montessori, our children have experienced tremendous growth both academically and personally. They've developed remarkable confidence, improved social interaction skills, and have shown significant physical growth. The structured yet nurturing environment, combined with the founder's vision and the teachers' personalized feedback, has been key to fostering their independence and coordination. We truly appreciate the experienced staff’s personal touch, which has made Different Strokes Montessori a transformative experience for our entire family.
I attended Different Strokes Montessori School 10 years ago and what I had learnt definitely stayed with me, throughout the years. Teacher Zainab taught me the importance of honesty and sincerity. She instilled confidence and teamwork which I realise their true value now, years later. Over the years I have achieved several awards ranging from mathematics to geography. I have achieved well in Eistedfords throughout my primary school years. In grade 7 I was elected Academic Executive Councillor of Tom Newby School. I was given the Principal’s award and Top Learner Award in my last year at TNS. In high school I have achieved the Top Learner Award annually and have participated in various debates and speech contests. I will be forever thankful to Teacher Zainab for instilling the love for learning and passion for reading at a young age.

I really enjoyed my time at Different Strokes Montessori as I learnt a lot. I was given a good foundation and this made Grade 1 a lot easier for me and helped me get many awards. I came in the top learners for grade 1 and took the Islamic studies award. I also got an award for UC-MAS.
